We were delighted to be invited by GCVS to offer a workshop on personal wellbeing and self-care to third sector colleagues.
Feedback from the session was positive, so we have put the slides from the session, amended slightly to reflect reading them outwith a workshop.
We probably recognise, by now, the many changes and challenges which have emerged as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The third sector, along with many others, has been doing all it can to try and help mitigate the impact of the challenges for the people and communities they serve.
The slides can be used by anyone interested in exploring more about their wellbeing and self-care, so please, feel free to share.
An overview of the slides is as follows:
- Time to pause
- An introduction to The Warwick and Edinburgh Mental Wellbeing Scales
- Ideas to help plan for change in areas where you want to see improvements in wellbeing
- Tips to support visualisation, journaling and affirmations
- Ideas that can help improve self-care or feelings of wellbeing
We have also included contact details of other supports as these slides are for self-reflection or use as an informal workshop in a group. They do not replace professional advice.
Those supporting people and communities face the challenges COVID-19 presents in their own lives and seek to be there for others. They may find health challenges of their own or a loved one, the loss of someone close, the feeling of disconnection from what life was like before the pandemic and more.
However, people care and want to continue to do what they can to find ways to calmer waters again.
These slides, we hope, are a reminder, you matter too and making time for yourself is also allowed.
